Marc Hazelton is a senior vice president at Gladstone Place Partners, where he advises clients on a range of matters, including corporate reputation management, M&A and financial transactions, media relations, executive positioning and digital media.

Marc brings extensive strategic communications experience to the firm having spent his career in a number of in-house communications roles. Prior to Gladstone, Marc ran external communications for AIG’s Life & Retirement business, where he was responsible for building out the company’s media and social media presence, as well as preparing the business for its proposed IPO. Before AIG, Marc led global public relations for State Street Corporation inclusive of its corporate functions, asset servicing and asset management businesses in the US, UK and Asia. During his time at State Street, Marc managed communications across a range of significant and complex matters, including the company’s largest ever acquisition, the stakeholder engagement program for its new CEO, a Congressional hearing and the company’s response to the pandemic-induced market turmoil.

Prior to joining State Street, Marc spent over a decade, split evenly between London and New York, in various leadership roles at Barclays PLC spanning corporate, investment banking, retail and commercial banking. Marc led or was involved in a series of high-profile projects, including the acquisition of Lehman Brothers’ North American operations, the sale of Barclays Global Investors to BlackRock, a CEO transition and several litigation matters stemming from the financial crisis.

Marc received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Durham in the UK.
