Michael BruenVice President
Michael Bruen is a vice president at Gladstone Place Partners. Michael has broad communications and corporate affairs experience having worked in both agency and in-house roles across banking and financial services, corporate and enterprise technology.
At Gladstone, Michael has worked with companies including AB InBev, Barrick Gold, Citigroup, IBM and VMWare across various mandates. His transaction experience includes supporting 3G Capital’s $7.1 billion acquisition of Hunter Douglas, CLEAR Secure’s IPO and GTCR and Reverence Capital Partners’ $2.1 billion acquisition of Wells Fargo Asset Management, among others. His activism defense experience includes working with The Walt Disney Company on its engagement with Trian Partners and Third Point Management.
Prior to joining Gladstone, Michael worked as a senior communications advisor for leading Australian bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He was responsible for the communication requirements for the Business and Corporate Bank and the Bank’s stockbroking arm, CommSec, as they navigated the Australian Government’s Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. In this role, Michael managed customer crises and brand reputation issues and supported several business divestments.
Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.
